FAQ’s

1. WHAT ARE THE TRI-VILLAGE BASEBALL BOUNDARIES?

We serve residents and students within the boundaries of Bethlehem School District.

2. CAN I PLAY IN TRI-VILLAGE IF I LIVE OUTSIDE OF LOLL'S GEOGRAPHICAL BOUNDARIES?

Yes. There are 2 separate ways a player may be eligible to register for TV. A player is eligible to play in TV by either: 1) home address is within the Bethlehem School District boundaries 2.) the player attends a school within the Bethlehem School District boundaries (such as St. Thomas).

3. WHAT IS MY PLAYER’S “LEAGUE AGE”  AND WHY IS THAT IMPORTANT?

Your player’s league age is determined by the Little League Baseball Age Charts. The age determines the division which your Little Leaguer will play this season.

Please see our divisions program pages for more information on each program and an overview of the division criteria..

4. WHAT IS A SKILLS ASSESSMENT? WILL MY PLAYER NEED TO DO IT?

TV holds small-group evaluations for Intermediate and Majors participants. Prior to International League (Youth through Farm), players are placed on teams based on their neighborhood school and parent requests.

Tri-Village  holds a skills evaluation during March ahead of the division drafts for every player who is eligible for the Intermediate through Majors of Little League Baseball. Our evaluation is typically administered by our Player Activity Director and allows the coaches to assess each player's skill level for throwing, fielding and batting. Players are ranked to allow for the coaches to draft and build fairly balanced teams. At this level there is an explicit intent to create diverse, competitive teams.

We understand that a skills evaluation may be stressful, and Tri-Village makes every effort for this to be a fun, non-pressure event.

5. IF THERE’S A SKILLS ASSESSMENT, DOES THAT MEAN THERE ARE CUTS?

For Intermediate and Majors (Player-Only Pitching), there will be a skills assessment in order to organize and draft players to form fairly balanced teams. No player will be cut, and ALL PLAYERS WILL HAVE A TEAM TO PLAY ON. In some cases, the Division Coordinators and Coaches may agree that, for safety concerns, a kiddo would benefit from playing in a different division level. This may be common for a player with little player-pitch experience. The goal is for players to have a positive baseball experience.

6. MAY I REQUEST A CERTAIN COACH OR FRIEND’S TEAM?

For baseball at the Youth through Farm levels, we make every effort to accommodate a player’s teammate and coach requests. Requests will be handled on a best-effort basis, but are NOT guaranteed. We appreciate your understanding.

For Player Pitch divisions where there is a skills evaluation and teams are built using a draft system, it is NOT POSSIBLE to request placement with a friend or coach.  It’s also important to know that it’s possible that your child will be on a team with players he or she will not know.  This also gives the 3rd through 6th graders a chance to meet and play with kiddos in nearby elementary schools. What a great opportunity for players to build a strong friendship base before entering Middle School.

At this level there is an explicit intent to create diverse, competitive teams.

8. IF I WOULD LIKE TO COACH OR VOLUNTEER TO ASSIST WITH A TEAM, HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?

We welcome all volunteers! If you’d like to coach or fill one of many volunteer positions with a team, you will be able to indicate your interest during the registration process and we will reach out to you afterward to discuss further.

9. WHAT THINGS WILL MY PLAYER NEED PRIOR TO PLAY?

As a league, we provide shirts and a hat to each player. Each team is also provided with balls and catcher’s gear. Your player will need their own pants, helmet, bat (USA Bat standard), glove and water bottle. For specific required and optional equipment, please see your specific division HERE.

10. WHEN WILL I FIND OUT WHEN MY PLAYER HAS BEEN PLACED ON A TEAM?

After registration closes, the TV volunteer Board work diligently with the coaches to manage teams. Please allow 2-3 weeks after the registration deadline for teams to be formed. The first communication regarding your player's team will be from the Head Coach.

11. WHEN ARE PRACTICES AND GAMES?

Each level of play is a little different and the specific days of the week are not assigned to the coaches until after the teams are formed. Teams usually play 1-2 games a week. Everyone will play most Saturdays during the season. For further information, please see your specific division HERE.

12. HOW LONG ARE PRACTICES AND GAMES?

Practice and games can range from 1-2 hours depending on the coach and level of play.

13. WHO DO I CONTACT IF I STILL HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE LEAGUE?
